For the past 10 years, Sam Coyle has been one of the most welcoming and helpful staff members at Klasko Immigration Law Partners. This is not a matter of opinion or up for debate and was solidified in early 2024 when Sam was presented with the Rich Rulon Award at the firm’s holiday party.
This annual award is presented to a KILP employee who “performs above and beyond at their position and demonstrates a deep commitment to the KILP mission”. Award recipients are chosen from supervisor nominations, with the final selection reviewed by firm partners.
Sam works as a Supervisory Paralegal leading a team that serves the firm’s individual clients and small- to mid-sized companies from a variety of industries. He loves strategizing with clients on some of the most unique scenarios in immigration. He was an active member of the firm’s famous Social Committee for many years, particularly in helping to organize the annual “Firmsgiving” event. But his cherished memory is singing karaoke of “Summer Nights” from Grease with the firm’s HR Manager, Angela Devine, during one firm holiday event. Outside of the office, Sam can be found, well, outside. He can be found camping in the warmer months or hitting the slopes in the winter.
Sam’s nominating supervisor described him as “a wonderful colleague who cares not only about his team, but his colleagues in general. Given the remote environment we work in, Sam makes an effort to create camaraderie, not just between the greater ICU team, but also with other teams… Sam has a positive attitude and anyone who works with him really enjoys working with him.”
While Sam never had the chance to work with Rich Rulon, he is very aware of Rich’s legacy. When reflecting on receiving this honor, Sam says, “I never had the pleasure to work with Rich, but from all the stories I’ve heard, his personality and commitment still resonate in our firm’s culture. I’m glad to be a part of that legacy and continue his work. “
The Rich Rulon Award was created to honor one of the founding partners of Klasko Immigration Law Partners (then known as Klasko, Rulon, Stock & Seltzer), who retired from the firm in 2009 and passed in 2019. Rich had a reputation for exemplary immigration work as well as an extremely positive and “can-do” attitude. His early leadership with the firm was instrumental in creating a foundation of the culture that still persists today of “work hard, play hard”.
Please join us in wishing Sam Coyle a big congratulations and acknowledging his impact on the firm!
