- How long have you been at the firm?
I just celebrated my 10-year anniversary with KILP in August! - What is your current role?
I am the HR and Administrative Manager at KILP. I oversee all aspects of the firm’s human resources operations. This includes everything from benefits, payroll, training, recruiting, compliance, and employee relations. I work closely with the partners to plan all employee related initiatives. I also oversee the administrative staff at the firm. We work closely together to make sure that everyone is supported. We have an amazing team. - How has your job changed over the years?
When I joined the firm, we had about 60 employees. Most of our employees lived and worked here in Philadelphia. My position has evolved as the firm has grown. We now have 114 employees from all over the country! I started out here as an HR department of one, but as the firm has grown, we have added to our HR team. We have an amazing team, and we work together with our number one priority to continue to create a positive and supportive environment for everyone at KILP. - What is your favorite memory from your early days at the firm?
I think the creation of our firm’s peer recognition award, The Ronny Award. We created this award in 2018 as a way for employees to formally recognize and express appreciation for their colleagues. The first month, we had an incredible number of nominations come through. It was amazing to read through them and almost impossible to pick a recipient. At the end of that year, we wrote each nomination on a Post-it note and we were basically able to cover an entire area in the kitchen with Post-it notes! That memory has stuck with me through the years. Now, each month I have the opportunity to read through the nominations along with our Social Committee members, and it always brings a smile to my face (sometimes happy tears to my eyes!) hearing all of the ways Klasko employees are going above and beyond to support each other. - What do you value most about working at KILP?
We have the best team. Everyone here is passionate about the work they do, but also, they care so deeply about each other. It is a unique environment. I am very proud to be a part of it. - What has been one of the more challenging times?
March of 2020 – getting everyone safely out of our office and transitioning them to remote work. Trying to keep up to date with all of the health and safety protocols and guidelines that were changing every day. Everyone was scared and unsure of what was going to happen, but we pushed through it together. I am proud that we were able to quickly come up with plans and guidelines to keep our employees safe.
