Taylor is Of Counsel in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and brings several years of experience in immigration law and policy.

Drawing on her multifaceted governmental and private sector background, she guides corporate and individual clients navigate complex employment eligibility verification audits (Form I‑9) and immigration‑related investigations. She also counsels them in engaging with federal immigration agencies, Congress, and the White House to advance their compliance, program management, and foreign talent acquisition and retention goals.

In addition to helping employers sponsor international employees for temporary work visas and for permanent residency, Taylor has experience securing O-1 extraordinary ability visas for Fortune 100 executives and startup founders, L-1 intracompany visas for multinational executives and managers, and E-1 or E-2 investor visas for investors as they expand into the US market.

Prior to joining KILP, Taylor served as Legislative Counsel to U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein and Laphonza Butler of the state of California. There, she advised on immigration and homeland security policy and legislation for both committees of jurisdiction: Judiciary and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (HSGAC). Prior to her time on Capitol Hill, Taylor served as an Attorney Advisor in the Arlington (relocated to Annandale) Immigration Court, through the Department of Justice’s Honors Program. She specialized in the detained docket, where she supported immigration judges with complex immigration removal cases.

Taylor earned her J.D. cum laude from the American University Washington College of Law, where she was a student attorney with the Immigrant Justice Clinic. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish from Providence College, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is fluent in Spanish.

As an active AILA member, Taylor participates in the AILA D.C. book club. In her free time, she enjoys reading (clearly!), exercising at the gym where her husband is the head coach, and traveling – especially in Latin America.

Taylor’s professional passion is rooted in lessons learned from her parents and grandparents: life is about building bigger tables, not higher walls. She honors her family values daily by securing wins on behalf of our clients.
