Stacy Shore is Senior Counsel in the firm’s Individual Case Unit (ICU) and is based out of the Washington D.C. office. She provides strategic legal counsel and creative problem-solving to support individual clients with their complex immigration needs.

She employs a hands-on, nuanced approach informed by her multifaceted experience with federal government immigration agencies.

Before joining Klasko Immigration, Stacy spent over 15 years in various roles with the federal government. Most recently, she was Chief of Strategy at the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman, where she gained experience and insights into the federal government processes and systemic issues that her current clients often face. As part of DHS’s Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program, Stacy completed the Key Executive Leadership Program at American University in 2022, which fine-tuned her leadership skills and primed her as a leader for organizational success.

Stacy’s deep understanding of federal agency operations, policy, and adjudications gives her a unique perspective in navigating immigration challenges—particularly in cases where conventional solutions fall short. She draws on this background to craft tailored, strategic solutions for her clients that align with both immigration law and the practical realities of the U.S. immigration system.

Her strong leadership and immigration savvy were evident early in her federal career. Prior to joining DHS, Stacy served as the PERM Program Manager at the Department of Labor’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification where she was nominated to participate in the prestigious Excellence in Government Fellowship hosted by the Partnership for Public Service. The program is the premier leadership development course for federal employees, whose graduates go on to implement innovative solutions to some of the federal government’s biggest challenges.

Before her tenure with the federal government, Stacy worked as a private immigration attorney for a decade, focusing mostly on business immigration matters. During this time, she was elected to the Executive Committee of the D.C. Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), serving as chair from 2008-2009.

Stacy is passionate about improving the client experience and lives by the Platinum Rule (as opposed to the Golden Rule): do unto others as they wish you would do unto them. Her personal values—integrity, authenticity, and care— drive her client relationships and case strategy. Her strengths, according to Gallup’s CliftonStrengths assessment, are Strategic, Arranger, Responsibility, Futuristic, and Significance.

Stacy earned her law degree from Temple University, where she served on the Political and Civil Rights Law Review and was awarded the Beth Cross Award for graduates who have demonstrated a commitment and dedication to providing legal assistance to underserved populations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Brandeis University. Stacy is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.  In her spare time, Stacy enjoys taking dance classes, solving crossword and sudoku puzzles, and volunteering in her community. She enjoys being a career mentor and coach, helping a protégé leverage their strengths and values to thrive professionally.
