As of June 17, 2025, Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority has announced that, due to the temporary closure of its offices, visas held by foreign nationals who were legally residing in Israel as of June 12, 2025, have been automatically extended until September 30, 2025.
This automatic extension applies to multiple visa categories, including:
- B/1 General Work Visas
- A/5 Temporary Residence Visas
- And other select visa types
Foreign nationals do not need to visit an Immigration Authority office to receive this extension – it is in effect automatically. Until immigration offices resume regular operations and can process further extensions, individuals can rely on this automatic measure to maintain legal status.
Those who anticipate needing a visa extension beyond September 30, 2025, should plan to follow up with their local office once services are made available anew.
